The river contains pike, chub, perch and barbel. You will need an Environment Agency rod licence before fishing the River Ure. Angling around Boroughbridge is administered by the local angling shop, Fish-N-Things (5 Horsefair, Boroughbridge - 01423 324776), as are day and weekly tickets for the river from Ripon to Newby Hall. You can obtain tickets for the river outside Newby Hall by contacting Newby Hall Estate (01423 322583) or visiting the Skelton-on-Ure village shop. |
